- Zippers are one of the three primary reclosure options for plastic bags, as extruded zippers are ubiquitous and found on almost all flexible barrier bags that are designed for more than a single use. Zippers, tin-ties, and lip and seal tape all have specific use cases, but generally, extruded and insert style zipper is the most common.

Standard zipper Reclosable+Reusable
Flange zippers are the most common zipper used in poly storage bags. The press-to-close zipper provides a residual barrier after the heat-sealed pouch has been opened, but unlike string zippers, the flange zippers lock shut more tightly, retaining barrier and keeping the contents of the zip bags fresh longer. We use the standard reclosable zipper on most of our stock bags.
Double Track Zipper
Double track zipper is ideal for reusable poly bags that hold heavy products or need an extra strong zipper seal lock. The zipper is used for applications where the customer is expected to use the contents of the package over a longer time and for higher number of open/close cycles. As such, it's freezer safe. The dual track also increase barrier retention and ensures the zip lock bags are as tightly closed as possible.
Pocket Zippers
This zipper is concealed under a tear-away strip that serves as a tamper evident cover. Contents are filled from the top and sealed above the zipper so that the zipper is protected until being opened by the consumer.
Slider Zippers
Slider zippers are a convenient means of reclosing packaging. Consumers enjoy the ease and speed of sliding the bag shut, and the visual confirmation that their package is closed. Unlike press to close zippers, this zipper profile does not require alignment of the two sides; the pull tab directs the zipper tracks into place for a secure and easy close that can be used over and over.
Powder Zipper
Powder zippers are designed to not be as easily clogged by fine powders like flour, industrial chemicals, and more. The power zipper on a zip bag includes a anti-static coating and structural design that forces powder back into the poly bags during the process of pressing the zipper closed, reducing the effect of powder getting caught in the flange. The powder zipper is useful for protein powders, powdered creamers and other powders that at susceptible to static cling.
Wide Flange Zipper
Wide flange zippers on a zip bag provide more enforced grab area for thin materials. They have a higher side wall which extends beyond the normal zipper area. It can be used to create a neater appearance of the tear line and gives the customer an indication of where to place their thumb when tearing open your storage bags. These bags are ideal for use in the kitchen for wet fill bags.
